Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and responses. My mother is hanging in there but it's not looking good. Her kidneys are failing and she's not tolerating dialysis, she had some arrythmias last night, she has 4 infections (fungal meningitis, pneumonia, actinomyces - which is an antibiotic-resistant infection, and septis). She's been on a ventilator since Thursday night and medicines to keep up her blood pressure - when they try to wean either, she can't sustain it.
So, that's where we are. She does have a DNR in her file now. I have been here since 5pm Friday. The hospital called at 6:30 am today and suggested we come in.
