Unsociable Networks and other Computer-Related Issues

Jan 17, 2009 21:46

Attempted to create a network today, between the upstairs and downstairs computers: no luck. the upstairs (older) one was fine accepting everything, but then I had only just installed Windows XP on it. Mine, the downstairs one with all the usual problems, wasn't having any of it. Still, now I've had a go and it doesn't work that gives me even more reason to get someone round to take a look at a.) the major problems being encountered by it and b.) get a 2-computer cabled network set up for me.

Also, we had a big Internet problem this morning. PlusNet's remote computer wouldn't reply to us. It's fine now though.

I was on Google Search (advanced then normal) and everything I clecked sent me to some advert site or other, all off 'go.google.something-or-other'. No other site has been affected. I can't seem to run Spybot, either, which is very annoying.

Still, I've handed in my coursework and my lab. reports are 90% finished: I just need a book for the other one and you all know what that's like! And I made a fairly disastrous banana loaf today: it had butter running around the edges AND stuck to the greaseproof! Still tastes OK though, and what there is is a nice texture.

Sahha ohrain.
