Another expensive week

This weekend I went into town early on Saturday and trawled the pound shops. I bought some Christmas presents for Matt, some stuff for Halloween next year (see this post) and a few other bits and bobs. I also went to Bon Marché and Peacocks for trousers and jimjams and to Barratts to get the boots I don't really want but need. They're also a size smaller than any of my other shoes: 3! They're very comfy though: I wore them to Adam's meal out that lunchtime having damaged my feet on the 'replacement' boots I got last year and they didn't rub any further. Adams' meal in Flaming Dragon was really nice: got to meet new people and re-meet old people :D Also meant that, for £6.50, I didn't have to eat for the rest of the day (though I did need a lie down when I got home!). Matt discovered that some Chinese food is fine: rice, battered chicken, apple and banana fritters and most desserts :D

That evening was the Halloween party: I'd come back from town via Sainsbury's (emergency milk) and walked my bike along the grass bank where there's a really pretty bush with red frond-leaves. I picked up a load but only used a few in the end: I already had a really pretty sycamore leaf from down by the Magistrates Court. Anyway, they stayed in my hair very well and looked quite impressive. There are pictures but they're not online yet. It was a good night without much major disaster after the initial meeting: once 7:15 came we were all having fun :D

I tried to get some work done Sunday and Monday, but certain things got in the way, like not understanding what I'm being asked to do/look for or simply not being given enough guidance/the right worksheets. I'm going to try and get more done tonight (which I would've done had I not spent an hour thumbing through a book looking for what I needed) but I'll have to hang around for an hour after Uni on Friday because I want to get it sorted ASAP and it's annoying me. I did spend yesterday finishing my Pirate Princess for Inquisitor though, as we have the Taster Session next Wednesday for that.

Also, the other night on the Paul O'Grady Show there was one of these (a good review is here) and now I wish I was 4 again and could have one! :( I have no room for him though, but I bet my Mum would look after him :D

My elf ears are on the way out: the latex has been sat in the sun and is really sticky on the outside of the left ear. There's nothing that can be done but I'd certainly be wiling to pay a bit extra for a pair as good as they are (they were £15 inc. postage from Germany) as they've lasted 6 years of abuse. Seems to be the time of year/life for everything to wear out.

Next week, Children in Need week, I'm being 'forced' (read: sponsored) to actually dress smart for work ;P Skirt, heels and a suitable jacket should do the trick! All the team are doing something unusual: Lee's stopping coffee between 8am and 4pm, and Daakpe and Mark are doing the same with phonecalls & crisps and smoking respectively. Peter's stopping gin between 4pm and 8am, but he doesn't know it yet! :D

Having a Girls' Early-Night Out on the 5th December at Felicini in West Bridgford, and then the work Christmas Do in on the 19th. Going home ot see the parents etc. between the 12th and 14th and off to Matt's parents on Christmas Eve.

And I've still yet to start coursework due the 19th December...
