I do believe it's time for a server upgrade. Looking around at two defunct desktops (one previously a Windows desktop and the other my broken Debian server), I just realized today that I probably should just fix the server by getting a motherboard and consolidating computer parts. This has the added benefit of giving me Gigabit on my server.
The only annoying part about this upgrade will be the lack of PATA ports, as I'll have to do quite a bit of hdd swapping to get all the info off my old PATA drives. Also, I hope that a 430 watt power supply will be enough. This seems like a really good idea right now, but I suppose I should sleep on it to make sure there's nothing glaringly dumb about it.
Meanwhile, these TED talks are really great.
