let the celebrations begin!

The last light has faded. The bonfire is lit and the fireflies are glowing merrily. The scent of wood-smoke is in the air. Three of the identical serving men have taken up instruments from the bower and have begun to play, varying between soft ballads and dancing tunes. By the fire, a large silver pail holds small, glittering crystals.

Upon the trestle tables, Joe has set out a banquet: bubbling white wines and rich reds; ales and meads; chicken and pork; roasted vegetables on skewers; and corn still on its cob. At the end of one table, a series of delicacies have been set aside. Here is a platter of pomegranates, and there a bowl of rich chocolates. A thick chicken soup laden with vegetables and spices sits alongside a stack of fresh-baked bread rolls. There is an odd nectar on the same table, sweet yet tangy like citrus, which bubbles and is unbelievably refreshing.

Though no regular evening meal will be served, no guest will be made to attend this gathering. However, there seem to be some unfamiliar guests already in attendance. The rest of the identical serving men wander amongst the tables, serving drinks and offering food. One even offers garlands of flowers and wreathes to decorate the wearer's head. The staff, having done their day’s work, are already mingling and enjoying the fruits of their labour.

[[ooc: Join the party at your leisure! There are, however, several items of interest here:

The four delicacies mentioned correspond to the four classic humours and their elements. Anyone who eats or drinks one of these items will find that element influencing them and responding to their emotions. The more they eat, the greater the effect. Please remember that this is not a conscious control.

The pomegranates correspond to air. Anyone who eats one may find the winds responding to their emotions. They may be followed by a small gale or an unnatural calm.

The chocolate corresponds to earth. Anyone who eats it will find the earth shaking or softening depending on their mood. They may even be followed by a small dust-cloud.

The soup corresponds to water. Anyone who eats it may find the water around them responding to their mood. They may be followed by a small raincloud or perhaps a misty rainbow.

The nectar corresponds to fire. Anyone who drinks it may find the torches and lamps flaring in response to their mood. They may also spit sparks and singe their hair, or else radiate warmth.

These effects will last no more than 24 hours.

The crystals by the fire, when thrown into the blaze, will cause the flames to flare and change colour depending on the element your character is most closely aligned with. When the flames flare, they should make a wish!]]
