Chloe edged out of her room, heart leaping in her chest as she gazed along the darkened corridor with wide eyes, a pallor to her cheeks. She needed to be as quiet as possible if she didn't want to be spotted. Who knew where she was, or what she had gotten into?
Hesitant steps marked her path as she edged along the walls, taking in unfamiliar surroundings as she tried to wrap her mind around the scenario. This was almost too surreal to be normal--but Chloe knew her life was already far from normal.
