Let's see if I can keep a train of thought to complete this post before someone or something distracts me. Last Saturday K and her friends went to Salem, MA with their boss. She had a great time. She bought me a stationary set which included parchment paper, quill pen, and Dragon's blood ink. It was very thoughtful of her and I will enjoy using them.
It was a busy and long week. Steve was off from work all week. It has been nice having him around. I haven't had to run errands etc. I got my second Microeconomics test back with a grade of 81. Not one of my better works, but I am happier with it than I was with the first one. The class average was 77 so I don't feel that bad. Sadly 3 people failed the test. However, one student received a 100%.
We started our Christmas shopping a little more seriously this week. I can't get into it much further except to say we have made a small dent. We were going to do more shopping today; however, the boys didn't go camping this weekend. That is probably a good thing as it is pretty wet out there today. It is supposed to become very windy and when the temperature drops tonight there is a possibility of a couple of snow flurries.
Thursday I went to court about child support. I could have held out and requested more records from him. I probably should have done that but I didn't want it to drag out forever. Anyway he had been paying $60.48 per week, he now has to pay $117.71. that is an increase of $57 and change. since he was served with the paperwork on June 30, it is retroactive for that 17 weeks. Since I had already added the original amount to my book on a weekly basis, I multipilied the difference times the 17 weeks and I came up with his retroactive total, which was about $927 and change. I have to add in his weekly amount for yesterday, but his grand total is over $5,600.
I almost finished the cross-stitch sampler for Hailey's birthday. I only have to put her name, birthdate, and weight on it, wash it, and frame it. None of that will take long to do. I started working on her pillows also, I think the first one is almost half done. I seem to have moved right along with it. Honestly I feel better working on stuff again.
I still have to do a paper for Marketing. I have had a few good ideas given to me, but I can't seem to find the resources I need. I'm tring not to stress over it though. I spent the past weeks stressing over the Micro paper and I need to be able to relax more.
Anyway, Friday I took off from work. I lost hours Thursday afternoon due to the court thing, but I wanted some time home with Steve. We went to Nana's in the morning. Her house is a disaster. She had flooding from the septic system and the rugs have to be replaced as well as the kitchen floor. She is waiting for the insurance company to get back in touch with her so she knows what she has for insurance money to buy a new carpet and floor. She is afraid she won't be able to find a rug in the correct color scheme for her place. Hers is a green / yellow. She looked once before for a new rug but couldn't find one she wanted. We have to wait on the insurance company first.
We went out with friends Friday evening. Had a good time. We did dinner and a hot tub. They offered to drive so we let them. Made life easier on me. I did share a scorpion bowl. I was kind of sorry I did. Whomever mixed it, mixed it way to strong. I think next time I go out and want a drink, I'll get a frozen strawberry margarita. See how that comes out.
Well I have distractions going on and it is hard to think. I have some Treasurer stuff to do and other things. I need to keep caught up. Samhain is Tursday and we have the candy for that. i just want to get some stuff to make a punch, elios pizzas, and maybe a couple of other treats. The boys have scouts that night and K will be at school.
Ok signing off from this for now. Will write more later when I can.
