chillin at kelli gay's mom's office
so it stormed and i didn't finish my update:
so last monday sean and i went to see the island (it is really good) then i had rec dept lessons. it was testing day for the kids.
tuesday was the last day of instruction and testing for my morning rec class (the cool class). they all passed level 4 and hopefully a few of them will join swim team or jr sharks (there were 7 of them). had to take sean to the dentist. forgot my book, so i just had to sit there and read newsweek (haha). it was my last day teaching private lessons to ryan. i found out that he threw out the first pitch at the big baseball thing at the park. he is going to school in savannah this year instead of statesboro, so it would be hard for us to continue with class until i leave because he will be at school. went to lap swim after that.
wednesday was the last day of instruction and testing for my night class. passed one of the two level 5 boys and 4 of the 5 level 4 kids. the ones that failed could do all the strokes except freestyle (what the heck?). i had to do the paperwork for my morning class.
thursday was the last meeting of the morning class...meaning it was fun day. then i went with my mom shopping and running errands. went with sean to the dmv to get his learner's and let me tell you the dmv is a happenin place. that place was full. craziness. oh and it is fun to people watch at the dmv. you've got the preppy white kids, the redneck white kids, the young mixed race couple, the old professor-looking couple, the little black kids, the people with weave, the people with bad mullets. hahaha. oh yeah. well it took an hour for sean to finally get his permit. then on the way back my mom thought it would be funny if sean drove back to our house from timberline rd (in our neighborhood). it was pretty funny. he was going so slow and whenever my mom told him to break he would slam on the breaks and we would fly forward. then there was the infamous turn to our road. well he kept turning the wheel but just a few degrees so we would go forward, then to the right, then forward again. it was hilarious because my mom was waving her arms mimicking the correct turning of the wheel and she was yelling "turn, turn!" hahaha. oh it was funny, but i thought we were going to run off the road for real. after that was lap swim then a meeting for the swim instructors. we got to eat cake and we got goody bags and certificates. i got the "on time all the time" award. of course we also had to fill out our paper work for the red cross.
friday sean and mom went out all day doing stuff they had to do so pepper and i were home alone. it was storming, so pepper was scared. then kelli came over and ate dinner with us and we rented wimbledon which was actually a pretty cool tennis/british people movie.
saturday my mom was in charge of the soup kitchen so we all went to work. the schmids minus audrey were there too, and mrs. guernsey, mrs. gleissner and her daughter ali. i was in charge of putting chips in the boxes. it was very lunch lady-esque with the big plastic gloves and everything. then we went to deliver the boxed lunches to the summit apartments. laura and i were supposed to work together and we got assigned the 1st floor, but that was where the naked guy lived so we decided to go with the 6th floor (the one with a lot of dogs). after we finished with soup kitchen i went over to audrey's house and chilled, ate lunch, and played with jazzy. then she came over to my house and we watched funny old home videos of us from like 1990-91. the funniest ones were of my kindergarten class and random church activities. she went home and my family watched swim fan on tv. that movie is so stupid but it is funny.
sunday: church, then subway, then vacuuming and harry potter, then my new dvd of the lost world and don juan de marco.
today i started working for kelli's mom at her office. her aunt and her aunt's grandson are the only other people here. i'm supposed to answer the phone when her aunt is busy. that's pretty much it. it's pretty laid back, so i've just been playing on the computer and hanging out. my mom's supposed to pick me up around 5 and we have to go to sean's open house. tonight is my official last day of rec swim lessons. it's the fun day for my night class.
