at kelli's mom's office again

yeah so yesterday after work my mom and i took sean to open house. so we went to find his locker and when we get to it it is hanging by one screw. it was just the perfect example of shs ghettoness. we were cracking up. we had to go see all of sean's teachers. mr. whiddon was first and he met sean and my mom and i was just standing behind them and he all of the sudden says "so you must be kelley." i was really surprised because i never had him for a teacher and i did go there a long time ago: most of the teachers i had are gone now. so i decided i must have been a big deal at statesboro high (haha j/k). anyway for shs people: whiddon has mrs. gay's old room! *ooh my first phone call of today! woo* so then sean went to meet his technology teacher. yeah that was only the second time i had ever been on that end of 6th hall (the c's had homeroom in construction senior year). then he went to meet mrs. moore (spanish 1). then he went to meet mrs. minick (she's got mrs. gerrald's old room! weird) and mrs. hubbard (right next door). they both remembered me and mrs. hubbard cracked me up when she said "how long has it been since i had you?" i said "a loong time" and she looked at me and then at my mom and sean a couple times and was like "are you his sister?" i guess she didn't see the family resemblance. anyway, mrs. minick said that sean needed to get a new schedule because his was the old version and they had changed everyone's. so my mom went to do that and i took sean to talk to jana (ward, art teacher) and get a supply list for drawing and painting. he got his new schedule and they had switched all the classes around but he had all the same teachers except that he has mendoza instead of moore for spanish. so we he had to go see that dude, copy down a supply list for math with some new guy named collins, and make an id card. finally finished with statesboro high stuff they had to drop me off at splash for my official last day of swim lessons. when i had changed into a swimsuit and went to fill out all my certificates and forms for the class some lifeguard guy says "hey. are you lauren?" i say no and he says "oh. too bad." this made no sense to me so i just ignored the dude and did my work. we weren't expecting a big turnout because it was a make-up day of class, fun day, and open house night for all of the schools in the county. i only ended up having 2 kids show up out of 7. both of them brought friends and just played. i planned on watching them, but not getting in until the girl's mom told me that her friend didn't know how to swim and asked if i could watch her/give her some pointers. so i played in the therapy pool with the little girls and the boys played by themselves in the competition pool. after class i realized that it was a start of a new pay period and since it was my last day of lessons i would only have 1.25 hours on my time sheet. they made a rule where you have to work at least 10 hours to get paid, so i asked my supervisor if i was ever going to get paid for this time. she said yes and that she might use me next week as a sub for the start of the fall session of swim lessons, which i'm not sure is a good thing or a bad thing. last night my family watched animal house on dvd. i hadn't seen that in forever and it was pretty funny because there are some fool people in it: there's the dude who plays mozart in amadeus, the lady who plays marion in raiders of the lost ark, and the dude who played the original vp on west wing. amusing. i calculated that for the 2 classes i taught in 4 weeks this summer i am only getting paid about $100. that's kind of depressing because it seems like not so much for a lot of work. oh well. at least it was fun. i really do like teaching swimming, especially upper levels (stroke technique and such). i think i could do it for the rest of my life and be happy (but incredibly poor). what if i spent all this effort getting my b.a. in government and just ended up being an aquatics director or swim team coach of something. that would be kind of sad, but sadly that is the only thing i've come up with so far that i know i would like to do. even if i end up doing something else i hope i can still do something relating to swimming on the side. on facebook there are now an amazing 24 people in my former swimmers at berry group. maybe the berry swim team is possible.
well i'm sorry this entry was incredibly boring especially for non statesboro high grads. oh well, back to chillin at the office.

oh! almost forgot! i was bored yesterday and looked on half.com and amazon for original star wars trilogy vhs sets. the 1995 edition (not the special editions!). the new ones ranged in price from about $30-100. so i was going to go with cheap $8 used copies and hope they didn't suck when i found in the used section on amazon a set for sale that said "like new. shrink wrap still intact." it was listed for $10! ah, it was so cool. it sounded too good to be true. as soon as i got home i got my debit card and ordered it. i can't wait.
