Catching up

Apparently, there was a big storm in France and yesterday it made it's way to the UK and boy oh boy did it rain! Fortunately, I managed to avoid it.  Yesterday started off with my Art Appreciation lesson. We looked at William Kentridge who has an exhibition at the Royal Academy in London at the moment. He's a South African artist (still living) and does some really weird and amazing enormous charcoal drawings, usually depicting the issues S Africa has had (and is still having) regarding how inequality is still part of society for those of colour. I'm off to see the exhibition in a couple of weeks so it was interesting to get some background.

After that I drove back home for a very quick lunch and then Mr Cee dropped me off to get my hair cut and coloured (it looks fabulous!). I caught the bus down to our other local town afterwards to meet him at the supermarket there (he'd gone to get his eyes tested). We got back about 4.30pm and had time to catch up with some things we'd recorded - including the new series of The Repair Shop and a new programme called The Travelling Auctioneers with Will Kirk (from TRP) and Christina Trevanion (from Bargain Hunt).  The pair go around the country to someone's house and find treasures to upcycle/repair and then they are auctioned for charity. It's a bit of a smoosh together of several other BBC antique/repair/auction programmes of the past, but interesting nonetheless.

Following that, we went out to our easier Pilates class which just about wrapped up Tuesday.

Today I'm heading up to London to meet a friend and we're going to The Wallace Collection which should be fun. If I'm back in time there will also be a meet-up of our Nordic walk group but that will be weather dependent as we are forecast rain again this evening and I hate being out in torrential rain on a walk.  Today's forecast is 14C/57F mostly sunny locally (15C/59F in London).

Just time for the first two questions of November:

1. What immature behavior have you displayed recently? I can get the giggles in an exercise class.....
2. What are some very salty foods you enjoy? I do love anchovies, salted crisps (chips) and salted caramel ice cream :)
