I got up early because I woke up thirsty - I hate that! Mr Cee wasn't far behind me as the ring-neck parakeets which live around here were screeching in the trees *sigh*. We had a leisurely breakfast and then set off to meet up with our Nordic walking group for a Saturday long walk. We left a bit earlier so that we could visit our favourite antique shop in the village we were starting the walk. We were only going to browse, but I couldn't resist this cat toast rack (which is really hard to photograph!):

Then we were off to meet up with the group. There were only six of us today, but we walked nearly five miles around the village and surrounding areas. A couple of photos under the cut.
It's been a warm day, but fairly cloudy as you can see from this photo.
We were walking past wheat fields.

We also walked past a vineyard. The vineyard had a little café where we stopped for a break in the sunshine which was nice.
Then on to the picturesque village of Shoreham with a lovely river running through it.

Opposite this part of the village is
The Water House that was once rented to the Victorian landscape painter -
Samuel Palmer. Not many of his paintings survive because his son burned many of them, but he painted several scenes around the area.

Of course they named the pub after him!

After we'd finished the walk we had lunch in one of the village tea rooms and then we came home. It was a relief to take off our hot walking boots and sit down with coffee and cake from the tea room which we'd brought home :)
Youngest Cee and GF(P) popped in this afternoon for a quick visit which was lovely. GF(P) is now working as an administrator to a Head Teacher of a school having turned her back on being a Primary school teacher. She's loving it so that's good news and doesn't miss the hours she used to spend in her teaching role at all! Youngest Cee is going to apply for a more senior role which is exciting. Things are good for them at the moment which is nice.
I have some photos of the garden flowers which are all coming out now, but I'll leave those until tomorrow and in the meantime answer today's question which is: 21. Have you ever eaten so much of something you made yourself sick?
I don't think so! I have been known to eat too much chocolate in the past at Easter and felt really awful LOL!
The rest of the questions are
here.
