'Tis Monday again!

Yesterday was mostly sunny but chilly with thick frost first thing. We woke up far too early (I blame the light mornings!), but that was OK. We spent some time finalising the booking of a hotel and the train trip to see my mother-in-law for her birthday in June.  Thanks to kathyh's tip about a railcard (and the fact we remembered that we wouldn't have to pay for the first part of the train journey) we managed to keep the cost down a bit.

After that, it was time to meet with Youngest Cee and GF(P) at a favourite local place for brunch which was delicious and filling. Then back to our place for coffee and YC opened his presents. It was fun after a couple of birthdays that have not been so normal (especially during the first lockdown as we didn't see YC in person (although we did see him blow out his candles via Facetime - thank goodness for tech!).

For the rest of the afternoon we caught up with a film and watched a couple of episodes of Picard. Poor 81-year-old Patrick Stewart is looking (and sounding) his age now. I notice he is pretty much sitting down through all the episodes - time to retire? Santiago Cabrera is still a joy to watch ;)

Today I have a free day - so far I've been cleaning out my inbox and sorting all the 'stuff' that accumulates around the house. I've done two loads of laundry, but as it's pouring with rain today there's no chance of putting it outside to dry even though today's forecast is a balmy 12C/53F. The garden is appreciating the soaking, so I can't moan.  Later I'm going to roast some red peppers and make a pasta sauce as I have a glut and I have a podcast about Tudor jewellery to listen to so that will be fun!

I've also realised that my passport expired out mid-March, so I'll also have to get on with renewing it!

I have questions:

3. What is your favourite way to waste time?
I never think I do waste time, but I can spend a lot of time reading stuff on the Internet as it's so easy to go down a thread from a page into something interesting. My favourite way to spend time is reading - and that's never wasted time - be it a book, a magazine or online.

4. Do you have any pets? What are their names? Now, what are the names you actually use for them?
We have three goldfish in an indoor biorb tank who don't have names - we've kept goldfish for the past 30+ years and we've never named them (two out of three - the third one is in there somewhere!):

We have three cats (siblings and 10 years old now) and they mostly do come when we call them (although rattling a pouch of treats will also get their attention!). Their names are -
Zero (or Zizzy Boy or Ziz-zoh)
Lady (or Ladybug or LadyLady)
Tippi (or Tippity or Tips)

The rest of the questions are here.
