We woke up this morning to lovely sunny skies and no wind at all here with the forecast for today around 10C/50F - so we went ahead with our plans to drive down to visit with Eldest Cee on the coast. It was still sunny when we got there, but the wind was much stronger than at home and there was a yellow warning for wind and rain!
Anyhoo we met up with Eldest Cee and went on the train along the coast to Brighton to visit the
Toy and Model Museum. It's a tiny place, but so interesting and full of old models and toys such as Meccano, Lego and model railways. Under the cut for a couple of things that caught my eye.

Building sets from different eras including some to make Tudor buildings (because what child wouldn't want to do that LOL!)

Tiny models - there's Shakespeare's Globe, the house where he was born amongst others.

Toys aimed at girls included some model ovens which were fueled by real coals or burners with petrol or spirits in. It's a wonder they didn't burn their houses down! There were also model haberdashery stores in the dolls house section. I loved this one.

There were also some penny arcade machines you could play on and loads of model planes, puppets and model boats. It was fascinating.
The weather had taken a turn for the worse when we left, so we abandoned our plans to walk down to the beach and headed back to the station and Eldest Cee's flat where we gave him his birthday presents and had a very nice takeaway lunch. Yum!
We left about 2.30pm as the rain was very heavy by then and we were worried about travelling home. We took it really easy on the way back, and saw two accidents on the other side of the motorway, (looked like people had slithered into each other in the rain, and hopefully no-one was hurt as we saw them walking around). People were driving far too fast for the conditions, so I'm not surprised.
We have been relaxing since we got back - the weather in our area is much better, although it's gusty outside again, and we have a weather warning for wind for the next couple of days *sigh*.
I have a question for today: 19. Would you rather have all your meals prepared for you, but not have any say in the menu (outside of certain dietary restrictions e.g. allergies), or sleep eight hours every night, but not get to choose your bedtime?
I would love having my meals prepared for me! It would be so nice to be surprised with yummy things, and of course I could still bake if I wanted to! Yes please!
The rest of the questions are
here.
