Midweek musings

Jan 12, 2022 18:35

Today's forecast highs of 7C/44.5F sunny which is really welcome after a few days of dreariness. It started with frost though so took a while to warm up.

Alexa turned the radio at 7am as usual - we have the local independent radio station set to come on as the news is more relevant as is the weather and travel information (not that we usually need the travel information these days).  Mr Cee got up and fed the cats and I joined him after about 15 minutes. He started work at 7.30am, and I pootled around sorting out laundry etc until we took a break for brunch.  Mr Cee made sourdough toast with smashed avocado and poached eggs - it was yummy!

After that I set off to catch the bus to go into our nearby larger town to go to see the film The Electric Life of Louis Wain. It's the last few days that it's on locally and I couldn't find anyone free to go with me, so I decided to catch the 10.45 showing. I got into the town early enough to visit a couple of shops and get a few things I wanted before I made my way to the cinema.  It's a plush cinema with 6 screens - I was in one of the smaller screens along with four other masked up people (the seats recline - I love that! - photo under the cut.

The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Louis Wain and it was a sweet film about his life and art. It also included the issues he and his four sisters had with mental health, which sounds depressing, but as the current thought is that he may have been on the Autistic Spectrum BC's portrayal was really well done. The make up was also pretty astounding as they aged BC from his early 20s to over 70 and it was very impressive.

After the film I stopped off and bought some doughnuts (because why wouldn't you and I was hungry!) and headed home on the bus getting in at around 1.45 when we had a Krispy Kreme doughnut and coffee break. I spent the afternoon doing a few admin chores for the bellydance mentor and sent her the results of the research she needed. Then I caught up with Mr Cee after he finished work.  At 4.15 we set off to join in with a guided torch-lit Nordic walk with our group at a local recreation park and woodland which was fun.

We walked two and a half miles and as I'd already walked just over two miles in the morning it was a good day for exercise.  There was a lovely sunset

Now we're having dinner and are catching up with some TV and bedtime will be around 10.30 as we're both tired.

12. What's your favourite number? Why?
I don't have a favourite number - I always find it a bit odd when people have one as I personally don't have any attachment to a particular number  - numbers are for identifying or counting things aren't they? *g*

The rest of the questions are here.
