Sunday musings

Yesterday it was a day of clouds and the odd light shower but we got a lot done around the house. In the morning a friend came round and while we were having coffee and a catchup, Mr Cee repainted one of the living room walls where he'd added some sockets earlier in the year.  He also repaired the curtain track in our bedroom which had decided to sieze up. It's useful to have a Mr Cee sometimes!

After my friend had gone we went to our nearest large town and bought some coffee pods and recycled the old ones and grabbed some lunch in Burger King as we've not been there for more than a year. How disappointed we were to find that the Spicy Beanburger is no longer on the menu! We won't bother going back as that was our favourite (and no, Burger King, a fried Quorn burger is not the same).  Our fast food fix will have to be less often as the only other burger place we like is a really expensive as it's not part of a chain (my arteries probably approve even though I prefer the non beef /veggie options *g*).  We did some shopping, but we didn't want to stay long as too many people were not wearing masks (although most of the store staff were) or keeping their distance, and the infection rate in my area is not very low. So we were in and out as quickly as possible after we'd eaten.

The afternoon was spent potting out some new winter perennial plug plants and dividing the strawberries and repotting them in a strawberry tower ready for next year's harvest.

I bought 8 plants this year and lost a couple, but the runners increased the crop to 19 plants, so with any luck they'll survive the winter and I'll have a nice crop next year.

While I was doing that Mr Cee gave the wall another coat of paint and it was warm so it dried quite quickly and we spent the rest of the evening tidying up and having a very light supper.

Today's forecast is cloudy 20C/68F - I started the morning watering all the plants as it's been a while since we've had a good rain shower.  We've also been to the park for our Tai Chi lesson - it's the first one since July as the weather has been so bad each weekend! We were the only ones who turned up which is a shame as I know how much our teacher was hoping to get the classes off the ground. We had a good time though (53% cardio!) and on the way home grabbed some groceries.  I am going to make a malt loaf this afternoon and then we're probably going to spend the rest of the day relaxing as it's all dreary again.

Questions:
28. How many closets does your house have?
As I understand it a US closet is a small built-in area that has a door where you store clothes etc. By that definintion I don't have any as all our wardrobes are freestanding - we have three in our bedroom and the spare room has one wardrobe.

29. What year is your car?
We have two cars -
Nissan Leaf Tekna E+ (fully electric) : 2021 - we traded in our three year old electric Leaf this year for a new one.
Smart ForTwo : 2017 - it's a petrol car, but so economical it only needs filling up every 8-10 weeks or so. We're tempted by the fully electric Smart, but they're still a bit pricey, so maybe in the future we might get one *g*
