Forecast: 21C/70F sunny intervals
Actual weather: Pretty accurate actually - I've even managed to put some laundry out on the washing line in the garden where it's happily drying!
This morning I started my day doing tidying up and at 10am it was time for the online Thursday Tai Chi lesson. Mr Cee had a meeting at 11am, so he joined me until just before then and then shot off to the study. The lesson was good - we did some things we are used to doing and learned a special Tai Chi shibashi (set) which is a combination of lots of the moves from the 6 shibashi we have learned so far. It was good - but we whizzed through it because we didn't have much time to do it after we'd done the regular stuff LOL! Fortunatey we have the recording to make sure we can practice.
After lunch I spent the afternoon sorting out my old Windows laptop as it was being temperamental connecting to Zoom for the Tai Chi lesson. It was good to remove a lot of extraneous programs that I don't need on there any more. I also used my LjArchive program to back up my Lj, and spent some time trying to find something equivalent for Mac.
I couldn't find anything similar (anyone know anything that works??), but I did find something called
BlogBooker which works on both Windows and Mac and gives you a pdf of your journal. The free option only gives you a limited time range you can save, but I think there's a work around if you have time to save a year at a time. As my Lj goes back to 2005 I decided to pay for the Basic plan as it's quite reasonable and means I could back up everything as a one off. The free version will save photos and comments, and you can also save each entry to one page so when you view it it's like flipping through a book which is useful too. It's a good compromise and at least it means I don't lose all those entries!
This evening my Pilates lesson is on despite our teacher not being very well. She's said she'll just do this lesson in the hall so Mr Cee is coming along too as his beginners class (which would normally be before mine) is cancelled. I'm hoping it's not too hard as we've already done one lot of exercise today LOL!
In the meantime I have today's question: 29. Have you ever met an online friend in real life?
I have! I've met loads of people at
writerconuk! We started in 2006 with minimeets and then went on to hold little small intimate cons which was lovely and continued through until 2019. We're hoping to get it up and running again at some point - it was so sad to cancel the 2020 event :( It was lovely to meet loads and loads of people from Lj - some of them are no longer on Lj, and some of them are no longer with us, but I have happy memories of meeting everyone over the years and hope to meet up again soon!
I was also lucky enough to meet up with
frenchani when she came over to the UK a couple of years ago and we met up and spent a lovely day in London wandering around a museum and then stuffed ourselves with an afternoon tea! Yum!
ETA: I forgot
kathyh!! I've met her a few times as we have a common work background we didn't realise we had (and we probably were in the same building back in the day and didn't know it LOL!)
