A bit damp.....

Forecast: 20C/68F intermittent light showers
Actual weather: 22C/72F and intermittent TORRENTIAL RAIN!!!!!!!!  (which I was in FFS!!)

This morning started with me making a courgette (zucchini) and lemon cake as I had some courgettes to use up from my last veg box and one delivered today had more. So I got that on and then had the last of my online course Brave New World: The Art of the 1930s. This week we looked at British art in the 30s which covered realist as well as surrealist painters and sculptors. Another very interesting session and I learned more about Henry Moore, Ben and Winifred Nicholson, Barbara Hepworth, Paul Nash, Ithell Coquhoun and Meredish Frampton amongst others. As there were only 7 students in this online course it was really nice as we had lots of opportunities to talk to each other and have discussions. It was fun and I'll miss the group.

After lunch I did some research on a new prop for bellydance which I've just treated myself to. It's called a veil poi (or a VOI) and you swish it around artistically (if you're interested I've put a video under the cut of someone who is rather good at it).

We had a Nordic walk booked this evening at our nearby woodland, so we decided to walk there.  Unfortunately just as we left the house to walk to the wood the heavens opened (about the fourth time it had done that today) and we got soaked on the 15 minute walk there. We got there at 5pm and everyone else was sitting in their cars waiting for our walking leader. Of course just as he arrived the rain virtually stopped so we went ahead with out walk, but just towards the end the rain was torrential again.... *sigh*.

It was OK in the middle of the walk... although the sky was a bit dramatic! This is the meadow with loads of wildflowers.

We got home at just after 6pm looking like we'd not had any waterproof clothing on at all LOL!  So we've both had showers and we're just about to have some dinner to warm up.

Today's question: 28. Musician you would like to see live if you had the chance?
I'm always slightly disappointed when I see musicians live. I would have liked to have seen George Michael. Too late now :(
