Easter Sunday.....

In a typical contrary English Spring today started cool, but there is now bright sunshine making it very warm on our deck. Why couldn't it have been like that yesterday when Youngest Cee came over with P for his birthday!??! Because it's Spring in the UK that's why! Tomorrow it's supposed to be cold again......Grrrr.

Anyhoo - I woke up at 3am last night - my SI joint was painful again so it might have been that. I need to get my act together and regularly do my maintenance exercises from Dave the Neuroscientist, but I keep forgetting which is why the SI joint is still hurting. Anyhoo it felt better after I'd walked around a bit and I went off to the spare room and read my book and dozed for a while until I got up at 8am.  I am determined to get back on track as I feel a bit dead now!

Talking of Dave - he is offering a new 90 day programme all about nutrition which includes a DNA test to identify how your body processes different food groups such as carbohydrates, sugar and fat. It's also packed with exercise classes and advice about healthy eating and lots of recipes. I thought I'd give it a go as it's ridiculously cheap for what you get - it starts mid April and will be a good distraction as I wait for the UK to fully open up again. Knowing Dave it's also won't be a 'preachy' course telling you what to do but giving you the tools to make your own decisions.

The rest of the day has been spent in the garden as it's so lovely. we've got the back doors to the house open as it's nice to have some warm fresh air. We've trimmed a few plants and watched the cats chasing various bugs only they can see in the lawn. The robot lawn mower has irritatingly stopped working. We had an update to the app that controls it two days ago and since then it's refusing to do anything. Mr Cee is currently trying a software update which has so far taken 4 hours to download and it's now updating the mower. I see a phone call to their tech helpline on Tuesday may be necessary!  It's so annoying as it was working really well up until now and the grass is looking great :(

Some pictures of the garden flowers:

Tulips are tulip - ing....

White tulips... and blue things I've forgotten the name of (LOL!)

Some bluebells just starting to flower and pretty purple hellebores are thriving.

I was pleased to see there are a (very) few buds on the camellia which had most of it's buds eaten by the squirrels over winter. So I am expecting a few blooms at least....

I've planted loads of grape hyacinths over the past couple of years and they're forming a pretty carpet of flowers this year.

One of the patio pots

Tumbling pansy 'cool wave' is very happy in a hanging basket.

The question today is: 4. What are your goals for the next year?
I don't know! It's all dependent on the vaccination programme, the Covid numbers, the travel restrictions..... we would like to go away for a few days - we're thinking of going back to Suffolk to the same AirBnB we went to last year, but it's not the end of the world if we don't go and we can't book yet anyway as everything is so uncertain. We're going to do some garden planning as we want to change the deck to something more interesting and it needs replacing at some point. We'll probably do it next year, but it would be good to get some ideas for the layout this year and then we can cost it out.  Other than that we're just hoping we can catch up with friends and visit with Eldest Cee at some point.

As we move into the 87th day since we went back into the most recent full lockdown and the 11th day of the second year since all this began our local numbers are going up again *sigh*. With 190 suspected cases locally (up 17 from last week). So annoying.. I'm sure it's because the local schools are all back.  I'm hoping this weekend people are being sensible... we are at least....
