Aaaaaaand we're back in full lockdown from Wednesday in London *sigh*

Apparently there's a new virulent strain of Covid19 in the South of England which means it's spreading very quickly and now we have to lock down again. This time restaurants and pubs are back to supplying take away food only. Bowling alleys, theatres, cinemas and any events with more than 6 people outside have to stop. We can't meet anyone in our ( Read more... )

Say both your sons moved away to advance themselves and accept new opportunities would you still answer the question for today the same way?

Interesting question. Given that youngest would be unlikely to move away from London as that’s where the higher salaries are, and Eldest Cee is very lazy and unlikely to be that adventurous I’m not convinced that would happen. However it’s the city issue that’s more of a problem as I can’t imagine moving away from London. I suppose we might consider a city in another country but we’ve been there and done that so I’m not sure I’d want to do it again.

Aaaaaaand we're back in full lockdown from Wednesday in London *sigh* You too? Same in Germany, the announced it on Sunday.
Even the hardware stores (home improvement centers) will close this time with a lot of other stores. Noticed the cat grass doesn't look so good any more and hurried to get a new pot today. You had to wait for an shopping trolley because you can only go into the shop with one.
Saw on TV that there were queues in the cities in front of the shops. *sigh*

Oh no! We still have the home improvement stores open, but I’m very upset that the museums are closed again. They were good at making sure only a few people were allowed in at any time and I felt really safe (you had to book a time to enter).

This is horrible isn’t it - and sad :(

Yeah it's sad. I hope it helps at last - the numbers are still rising. *sigh*

Viruses need a host - why doesn't anyone seem to understand that if the virus can't find a host it dies

I don't know why people can't understand what they need to do. We had to go on a bus on Saturday and the way a lot of people were wearing their masks was ridiculous. They seemed to think it was OK just to have it round their necks or over their mouths and not their noses. I am completely unsurprised we are in Tier 3 even though I feel terribly sorry for all the businesses that are having to close again after just reopening.

We were out and about locally and people seemed to be fairly sensible, but we were only in the local area. I’m sure in the bigger towns there are covidiots everywhere. I do wish that people would stop moaning and just get on with obeying the guidelines (and that’s what they are - not laws, not rules - guidelines to keep us all safe).

We are booked into a local restaurant for Christmas lunch on 23rd. We are hopefully meeting friends and sitting in a socially distant way in the restaurant but I’m not sure if that will happen as the restaurant is only a small local business and I know they were struggling before. :(

Oh dear. I'd say welcome to tier 3, but in spite of trying to be hospitable, it's not a place any of us want to be *g*

In the big scheme of things I don’t mind too much but I must remember not to book things to do too far ahead as it’s so disappointing to have them cancelled.

This new mutated strain of COVID scares the ever-living crap out of me.

Please try to stay safe!

Yes it's worrying, but 'flu mutates, so it's not that surprising. It seems to be more of a problem that it spreads easier but apparently the vaccine will cope with the mutation when I eventually get a chance to get it (next year sometime). I'm washing my hands all the time :)
