Aaaaaaand we're back in full lockdown from Wednesday in London *sigh*

Dec 14, 2020 17:01

Apparently there's a new virulent strain of Covid19 in the South of England which means it's spreading very quickly and now we have to lock down again. This time restaurants and pubs are back to supplying take away food only. Bowling alleys, theatres, cinemas and any events with more than 6 people outside have to stop. We can't meet anyone in our garden anymore, and we can only meet up to 6 people in public open spaces. Schools are taking lessons back online in some areas, but the Government want schools to remain open. Hairdressers/barbers and most of the shops will still be open, but they will limit numbers in them.

Viruses need a host - why doesn't anyone seem to understand that if the virus can't find a host it dies.......*eyeroll*  So my trip to London on Thursday is cancelled - I was going out with a friend to see the Artemesia exhibition and to have a meal out (sitting outside). Oh well.. However, we are still planning on going to see Eldest Cee on the 20th to drop off his Christmas presents. We feel that this is essential for his mental health (and mine!) so if we are stopped that's what we'll say. Strictly speaking we shouldn't be travelling out of our area until 23rd and then there's a whole new set of rules we should follow....

Yesterday we had a nice meal out at a local Mexican restaurant. We had half price coupon and we were the only people in the restaurant for lunch - we got very good service, so Mr Cee gave them a good tip LOL! We walked there which made me feel less guilty about having chimichangas (which were delicious!)

Today I have been doing some work for the bellydance mentor which has been interesting, so that was OK. I've had to shut my Etsy shop early as I've been a bit concerned about how slow the post is at the moment. Etsy orders I sent off and should have taken 48 hours to be delivered are taking around 7 days to get to their destinations.  Fortunately it looks like everything has arrived but I can't guarantee things will arrive before Christmas.  I've has some more orders for stained glass bellydancers and mistletoes for friends (which I can drop round) so I got those cut out this morning to give my eyes a rest from the computer screen. I'll finish them tomorrow and I want to make a mirror for one of my friends. I will have time this week at least and it's nice to still be creative.

My question of the day is: 14: If 2021 could see you moving to another city, where would you go?
At the moment it feels as if we'll never get away from this virus, so it's hard to imagine this. I think it would depend where the new city was as I'm fairly close to both boys at the moment and I'm not sure I'd want to be a long way away. If Youngest Cee ever manages to sell his flat (don't ask!) he'll still be within an hour's journey (as is Eldest Cee) and I don't think I'd want to be much further away which really limits where I could move to (especially if the destination is a 'city'). So I wouldn't go - sorry.
