The last day of September (day 192 of demilockdown - tougher restrictions)

Goodbye Helen Reddy - you wrote an anthem for all women, which was chosen to represent National Women's year by the UN in 1975. Still as relevant today as it ever was (under the cut "I am Woman")

In other news a newly opened Greek restaurant near me has been flouting the Covid restrictions and our local authority is now looking at getting an enforcement to close it. Apparently they have failed to allow for social distancing, been playing loud music, allowing people to dance and have been visited several times after customers complained. Much as I hate to see a business forced to close I hope they go ahead because it's a message to other businesses. It will be a permanent closure so they are Covidiots not to have complied after the first couple of warnings.

Yesterday I had art appreciation class in the morning. The subject this week was the Impressionists with a focus on Pierre-Auguste Renoir. A classically trained painter, the son of a tailor and a seamstress he had a fascination for painting people and especially including fashionable clothing. It was a really interesting lecture and I learned a lot about technique and the style of the impressionists as well as the reasons they were so vilified at the time (showing brush strokes - oh my!). Once again it was nice to see real people, and interact as a class despite having to wear masks. Adult education falls in a niche that won't be protected if a more strict lock down happens, but our teacher assured us she'd go straight online if the worst happens. *crosses fingers it doesn't*

I got back in time for lunch, after which I decided that it was a dreary day and I didn't really fancy doing much, but I sorted out some paperwork until Mr Cee finished work at 3pm and we went grocery shopping. We have a cheque to pay in from the energy company as they pay us a small amount to generate electricity with our solar panels. We got the cheque about 2 months ago, but haven't had the chance to pay it in as our building society has been open for very short hours due to the pandemic. We just missed it yesterday as it closed at 3pm so we're going to have to remember that and try again another day!

In the evening it was the last Pilates for a week as our teacher is off to a belly dance course in Turkey. It looks like the area she's going to is OK at the moment, but I think she's taking a bit of an unnecessary chance as she might get stuck there. I spent some time in the evening liaising with her and the teacher who is taking her bellydance class on Thursday so that everything is sorted out for that. Then there was The Great British Bake Off biscuit week which was fun, but I think the wrong person was told to go home at the end of it which was a shame.

Today I'm off to meet a friend at a garden centre for a coffee and a look around which I'm looking forward to. Just time for the 365 question for yesterday and today:

29 If you were your own best friend, what piece of unsolicited advice would you give yourself?
Keep calm and carry on.
30 What television sitcom is your real life most like?
Probably The Big Bang Theory as far as being geeky is concerned, but I'm so much older than all of those characters.
