It’s been cloudy and wet all week, but yesterday the sun broke through, and today it’s brilliantly clear and beautiful. I could almost forget I’m in the Rainy City. If the good weather keeps up, maybe I can ditch work early Saturday and drive over to the University to do some good old bookstore browsing and snap some pictures of passerbys.
I was listening to some office chit-chat and began thinking about gossip. There is a difference between not listening to unfounded rumors and sticking one's head in the sand. Being "as uninformed as possible" is a step away from ignorance. In fact, while you may "not [be] fond of and try to avoid" it, life is one big gossip session, especially in the realm of politics and entertainment. I think it's up to the person to filter the truth from the fiction or just take it all with a grain of salt. Learn to deal with it and use it, and then smoosh ‘em like bugs! Mwahahahaha! *coughcough* ^^;;
After months of neither comments nor entries people who'd I'd thought had abandoned LJ made surprise reapppearances, so it's time to update. I'm not sure why I keep Tenou on, but the last thing he told me sounded like he wasn’t physically doing well, so from time to time I pause and wonder if he's okay. I guess that's why. He was a decent guy, and I’d like to hear from him and know he’s well.
Speaking of which, I saw one journal that was 95% quizes, and although fluff is fine a little content now and then is also nice. It need not be some in depth discussion or deep intellectual revelation, but endless weeks of solely surveys, quizzes, and ambiguous two liners gets old. If that's what they want to use their LJ for, that's their prerogative, but don't then complain about how no one reads nor comments. Just food for thought.
Look. It’s a
goblin shark. Deadly voo. (If you can identify where that phrase comes from I salute you.)
And while doing random searches on topics such as “stapler”, “paper cup”, and “flip top head” - I was bored! - I found a quirky little claymation short called
"The Boy With the Flip Top Head".
