(no subject)

So I am sitting at work, last period on a friday with nothing to do (my prep period) Well, I am sure I have something to do, I just can't think of what that would be right now. Our field trip to the King Tut exhibit is on Monday, so that day is all figured out. Today was a "team" day and we had the kids doing pre-fieldtrip activities. They had to design their own pyramids with items they would  want to take with them in the after life. They were so good. They really enjoyed the activity. We spent the afternoon watching "Night in the Museum" Didn't catch the entire thing, because the bus company called in a panic that I did not confirm the buses for Monday (which I DID on Tuesday) But that all worked out. Had to make sure the check was cut as the office did not give it to me yet. This is the first time I am in charge of a FT, so I am in a slight panic, but the other teachers have been very helpful. I have a great team. Looks like we might get split up somewhat next year. Chaos is going on in the district as yet another principal is moving on (third one since I've been here 5 years) our VP is pregnant and will be out the first half of the year, our budget was shot down, and our enrollment numbers are going through the roof next year. Glad this was a good year, next year is sounding scary already.

I have to stay after for a dance today, so I don't get out til 5:00, then have karate. My sister in law calls me up to see if I can make a poster for my nephew for tomorrows BB game... talk about last minute. I have Karate at 7:30 and I won't be home until 6: (I live over an hour from work) and have 14 million chores to do tomorrow before the game (can't miss that, just because my SIL is a freak, doesn't mean I don't love and support my NEPHEW... if anything, I feel like he needs me more because of it.) Although, she has it in her head now that she wants to move to FL. Being Brazilian, she can't handle the weather, so she selfishly wants to uproot the family and move them a few thousand miles a way from the rest of us... I think it is more because she wants to be apart from us so my brother and nephews no longer have his families influence... we all see her for the wack job she is. My brother is willing to do it only because he's at a point of learned helplessness. Doesn't believe in divorce so sucks it up... I guess... can't imagine what else it could be, he's never been the whimpy brow beaten type before... She can be very nice at times, but she is just CLUELESS on life. She can't keep friends because she embarrasses herself ultimately. Her own family can't even deal with her. Half of them are "dead to her" as soon as they don't agree with something. She doesn't work, doesn't clean the house (there is a maid for that) and SHE STILL needs to have a babysitter take the kids to functions, because she needs to have time to have her nails done. But I ramble....

Tomorrow is more karate, cutting the lawn, cleaning horse blankets, cleaning my house, exercising the dogs, hopefully bathing them as well, but that will probably get pushed off yet another week, and getting to the game by 4 or 5 (no one knows for sure, because SIL is incompetent at scheduling life as well....) So I can enjoy my day on Sunday. Should be a good trail riding day... though a little time in the ring would be nice. I apparently have a few cues I need to work with with Taco. I can move his haunches over to the left, somewhat, but as soon as I try to give the same cue to move right he SURGES forward. He almost walked right through the outside rail of the ring yesterday! Literally! I was like "Great, the barn owners will KILL me if I destroy the outdoor ring!" He started to get after major contact with the reins to keep him from going forward... then he started backing up and popping mini rears. I finally got him to do it twice (sort of....) with out major contact, and I abruptly stopped and moved on to other things. Weird how they can be so one sided like that. So, something to work on!

work, sil, leg cues, taco
