I played a strategic game on a 4x4 chessboard. The board started empty, and each player took turns placing a chess piece until the board was covered. We started with the middle four squaresI think that was the standard defensive openingand then I got concerned when my opponent played a rook into the last of the center squares. The pieces never moved, but each one limited where other pieces could be played, and they made complex patterns from which the final score was derived. Something like sets in Mah Jong, but millions and millions of them.
At work, Patrick assembled a coconut layer cake. Sara said she was planning to sell her teeth to raise enough money to save her friend.
