shimotsuki . First of a number of drabbles dedicated to my Nana. I’ve not written Hermione before (I tend to shy away from the trio) so I hope it’s ok.
Sometimes Hermione wonders what she did to end up with such boys for best friends; Ron with the emotional depth of a teaspoon and Harry with his hero complex. It’s such hard work and sometimes she’s just so tired of it all. But then, when she lies awake in her dormitory worrying on the fate of the world or her studies, she overhears Lavender and Parvarti giggling over boys, make-up and clothes. She watches them trying on every outfit they own before a Hogsmeade visit or as they pout in front of the mirror complaining of non-existent fat. It’s then she thanks God, Merlin or whatever deity it was that granted her such friends. Because they may be such boys, but she is not one of those girls and more time in Lavender and Parvarti’s presence would send her clearly insane. Rolling her eyes, she ties her frizzy hair back in its usual ponytail, picks up her books and heads downstairs for breakfast.
