Better Explanation
I should've explained what was going on better in my post. The faculty does have good reasoning why they went on strike. One of the reasons being money and the current rate of inflation. EMU faculty is one of the lowest paying universities in Michigan. There are other reasons such as health insurance and certain benefits.
But the strike is still very unfair to the students who are all suffering from this event. I know a couple of people who are suffereing severely. One of them being my friend who is not getting his finicial aid kicked in because he can't get into the school of music while the teachers are striking.
The hardest part of this strike so far is seeing my teachers, especially those who have given me a great education so far, on the picket line. It's so hard to have to cross the lines. On Friday I even took different paths on campus to avoid crossing the picket lines while I was trying to do stuff for my classes.
Hopefully this thing will be over soon so I can actually get lectures on some of my reading materials. Luckily for me, whatever teachers are on strike are sending out emails saying things we should work on or read. So, I'm learning something....just not getting the lecture part that I need for my classes.
