New Addition to the Family

So, unfortunately, Frodo pass away earlier this week. I started to worry about Sam (who turns out to be a female) because she was used to having a friend for so long. So I decided to go and get a new hamster. I ended up adopting, which was free, and picked up a couple of supplies to put in the cage (I own two cages). I was hoping for a male but this one turns out to be a female. So her name is now Eowyn (yes, it is cheesey Lord of the Ring names but I like it). She's very nervous still and has been running around her cage crawling in all sorts of places. For right now, I'm slowly introducing the two together and have the two cages next to each other so they can see theirselves but not be able to kill each other. I'll try putting them together for a few minutes each day after Eowyn gets used to me and her new surrondings. I actually got her in my hand without her nipping at me (after I had got her in a toilet roll to pick her up).

Luckily, through my research, I found out that dwarf hamsters are a bit more socialable then regular hamsters and lke to be in twos or small groups. So hopefully these two will become friends.

Catcha ya, Later!
