Petition to end forced sterilization for trans people in Sweden
AllOut emailed me this petition to prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt about putting a stop to forced sterilizations of trans people in Sweden.
Basically, if you're trans and want to be legally recognized as your own gender, you have to be sterilized, and you're not even allowed to save sperm/eggs for later use. (Which means, among other things, that two lesbians can have a child through sperm donation, but if one of them is trans she can't be the donor. WHICH MAKES NO SENSE.) All parties are against this except Kristdemokraterna (the Christian right) and Sverigedemokraterna (the xenophobes), but since the right-wing Alliance in government includes Kristdemokraterna, the other Alliance parties don't want to rock the boat.
MAKE THEM ROCK IT. PLEASE.
