lots of good news
Lately, I've had lots of good news, so I think I'll just make a list and be happy:
My new apartment is lovely - twice the size I had before. Yesterday, I spent my Christmas money on a vacuum cleaner which seems to work very well, and my mother bought me two ceiling lamps. Today, I spent 800 kronor (only about 50 dollars, before you all get a heart attack) on furniture - I went to a second hand store and bought a sofa and three kitchen chairs, to be delivered tomorrow. Buying things is fun!
I also have Internet now, thanks to an impractical looking cable modem that'll cost me 300 kronor a month. Oh, what I do to be able to stay online.
My yuletide story is getting pretty popular - 18 people have commented on it so far, which is a six times as many as last year. (I knew there was an advantage to not writing South Park slash!) If anyone's interested, the story is called Turning Forty and features Gareth and Matthew from Four Weddings and a Funeral.
fandom_charity has also really bloomed, and people are making new offers daily. Only problem is that not everyone has someone to take them up on their offer. So if you have something fan-related you would want done, and you'd like to donate some money to charity (tsunami-related or otherwise), head over there and see what's offered.
Another very good thing is that all my friends seem to be safe, as far as I know. The only person I know who's missing is a girl I went to junior high school with, and since I hadn't met her in ten years I must count myself incredibly lucky. Statistically speaking, I should have friends or relatives down there.
And Padma is coming over tonight to watch more Angel - we got through half of season 4 a few days ago, which among other things means she's now seen most of the weslah relationship (and I now owe Lilah Morgan a dollar). Tonight, it's time for Faith.
All in all, I'm a very happy girl.
