This weekend was (was, already it's in the past?!) wonderful. We mixed it up a little and I appreciated that more than I thought I would.

We've gotten into a Friday after work habit of napping. I enjoy this habit as a way to unwind into the weekend, but I feel like it's taken away a lot of what we could be doing on a Friday, so this weekend we didn't do that, and life still went on. We did a little shopping for necessities Friday as well as a much needed car wash since we've both been accidentally parking my car under a tree full of birds that poop all over my car. We made dinner together and relaxed to a movie. A simple Friday night, but together nonetheless.

Saturday we slept in and then drove out to Robinson for some bridesmaid dress shopping, Christmas wish list shopping, and Thanksgiving clothes shopping. We loved going somewhere new for our shopping. It was like being in Hastings and going to the new mall - something different! :) We literally walked for hours in that mall - we walked past every. single. store just in case there was something there we wanted.

And we laughed everywhere in the mall. I nearly broke a grill at Dick's and I had to chase Kurtis up an escalator because he kept walking as I laughed hysterically over his "family bathroom" comment. "Do you know why I don't want to use a family bathroom with you? Because I don't want to know how you use a public restroom."  Kurtis nearly walked out of a dressing room in his underwear and our jaws nearly fell to the floor with the oompa loompa mother/daughter pair. We roamed through Ikea with zero buying intentions but somehow stayed for almost an hour. We took a leap and tried a new restaurant (yay Bahama Breeze!) and we played at Best Buy.

It was literally hours and hours of shopping with no real purpose, and I loved it. We played with random trinkets, we went up broken escalators, and we people watched. I can't even wrapped my head around how something so ordinary was extraordinary simply because it was with my husband.

Today was our usual Sunday - church, coffee, homework, and laundry. We've avoided bills up to this point, so hopefully the weekend is still awesome after all of that :)

So with a weekend like that, I'm ready for Monday. I'm ready to take on the week and get thins moving - only to enjoy a weekend of cleaning, packing, and excitement for a Thanksgiving with loved ones.
