I am now the proud owner of these boots:
They look better in real-life, but thank Hot Topic for choosing to photograph them on that hideous background. Whatever else I may say about Hot Topic though, I am grateful to them for having their shoes be almost exclusively non-leather.
And for only 15 dollars! (That's cheap, ok? They started out costing more than 40. I've been waiting for them for 3 months to get them on sale. As a bonus, they seem pretty water-proof, so they'll replace my old fall boots, which I recently had to throw out due to them having fallen apart. Hurrah for being thrifty, stylish and practical.)
I am gonna be so Victorian it hurts.
It also turns out that, according to my roomate, I have a "socialist hat." To go with
thegreatmissjj's
lesbian hat.
However, I am now officially not allowed to buy any more clothes until winter.
Also, everybody should see these gorgeous drawings by Harry Clarke:
(Thanks, Greg, I got them off your journal!)
Yes,
they're rather Aubrey Beardsley-like.
But that's a good thing.
I only wish I had the edition of Hans Christian Andersen's
fairy tales he illustrated, and especially the
tales of Edgar Allan Poe. Alex, check 'em out, you'll like the Poe ones.
Happily, with a bit of Photoshop, I can get the resolution on them clear enough to print them out full-page-size! I feel like the black & white corner of my room shall be expanding shortly.
