The sun is shining brightly. It's been snowing for days it seems. It's been snowing for months it seems. The snow is so deep we have no where to put it when more comes. The snowblower is not working and plows can only push the snow up against the giant wall of snow we already have which is not that helpful. It just falls back down. I am so sick of winter and snow. It has been long and harsh this year. I got some new snow tires. I have only ever had all season tires. What a difference that makes. I thought I was just a nervous bad driver. I just had crappy tires in the snow! Days I would have previously called off I am able to carry on and get things done because of these tires. I do slip and slide occasionally on particularly slippery intersections but usually starting and stopping. I kept my other tires to put back on in spring.
Maia and Jack are going to Saint Scholastica University next year. Maia is planning on working on a psych degree at this point. Jack wants to teach special ed. That is right up his alley. He is so much the embodiment of me at that age!!! I adore him so much. Maia is, as always, following her own path. which is also awesome. That is the goal after all. She is a little less outgoing than Jack but smart as a whip and comical.
Sophie is working hard in her junior year of high school and really em bracing stem concepts, Trig is her favorite class.
Thor, the fat cat, nearly died on us a few weeks back. He now has to eat special prescription food forever. He seems to be enjoying it though. He had a rough recovery. He couldn't hold his bladder at all. He would lie in my lap and pee on us both. Thankfully he seems over the worst of that and pretty much back to normal before my new furniture arrives!! I ordered a new couch that reclines and an oversized chair that reclines. It is slated to arrive sometime in March. At least last time I checked that was the case. I have to get rid of my crappy old broken furniture. Not sure how to get that done. Jack is always gone or working and he drivers the old van. I could pay someone but then I have to pay the fee AND the dump fee. It is literally dump material. Kids and pets have spent years destroying it. I hope we are past the worst of that. I have not had good new furniture since Chrysta was about 4. So over 20 years. The current couch was a handmedown and I dont know how long it was in its former home but its been in mine for nigh on 18 years. Its held up well but its ugly and not that comfortable. Only the dogs sit on it usually.
