Deck the halls

Well, we've all survived Christmas.

It was actually a nice holiday. Maddie is back from NY, and so her and I hung out a lot. Sort of went back to old times. She was my best friend all through elementary school, which, on top of the fact we were cousins, made us super close. We drifted through middle school, and started to get close again in high school. We spent most of tonight curled up in the armchair together, watching the family antics.

Dice game was the usual collection of crap, brother got an airfreshener taht smells like a bathroom, and I got a santa ornament made out of paper and a soup can...hidious, but cousins made it, so I smiled and cooed. Maddie and I, jammed into the chair, conned Alex into grabbing all our gifts for us, aunt yelled, and it was all around hysterical. Aunt was...quite intoxicated, and kept having "deep" conversations about other family members when they were only about half a room away. It had the great potential for badness, but no one was paying any attention, so it didn't go too badly.

Best double edged compliment of the evening, from grandma to me "Oh, you look so pretty. I didn't recognize you." Was not offended, and just laughed about it all weekend.

Everyone was out of the house by about 10390, and we sat upstairs for a while and cleaned up. Mom broke another wine glass in the sink...it's a holiday (and every other day) tradition, hence why we don't buy nice glasses anymore. Now I'm about ready to head to bed. We don't have plans for tomorrow, which is going to be really odd, but we might go see a movie, and then I'm hoping dad invites Jean and Jan over for dinner. Haven't seen them in a wile, and they're both pretty awesome people. We're still hoping for an engagement...

Not much else to tell really. All in all, it was a nice holiday, and hopefully tomorrow will bring some nice relaxing time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for books for the holidays. Am very much in a word-nerd mood.

Hope everyone had a great day!
