Today, all Canada mourns the passing of opposition leader, Jack Layton. Voted 'the politician most Canadians would want to have a beer with', smilin' Jack was what you'd call a leader poised ready to grapple with nowaday issues with tough old fashioned values -- a clear sense of right and wrong.  For my fellow Canuck 'snowywolfowl' as promised. Sorry they're late.

We started off our celebrations at home watching the snowbirds flying over. After lunch we headed towards Ottawa parked our car on the Quebec side and biked the rest of the way across the river. Canada Day was in full swing and the streets were filled!
