This and That
It would have been my mother's birthday today so Happy Birthday, Mum. We will celebrate with a Greek meal from Dishpatch and a glass, or several, of wine, which I'm sure she would approve of.
The weather has finally taken a turn for the better so I actually risked going without a coat when I went to the hairdresser's. Then, of course, it clouded over but luckily didn't rain on my new haircut. It felt nearly normal at the hairdresser's apart from the masks but everyone now seems adept at working round them. The weather doesn't seem to have got the message that it is a Bank Holiday weekend as the forecast seems good so we will attempt to introduce our straggly tomato plants to the outside world and finally be able to leave them out. We have nothing planned for the weekend as I've just got out of the habit of doing things!

25. Did you have a swing set in your yard when you were a child?
No. I was very envious of people that did.
26. What was your favorite book you had to read for school?
Probably "To Kill a Mockingbird" which we read in what was then Second Form and would now be Year 8. Our school didn't do English Literature O Level so we didn't have to take an exam on it so that meant we could just enjoy the book. I remember liking The Chrysalids by John Wyndham too and not liking The Lord of the Flies in the least. For English Literature A Level we read Sons and Lovers by D. H Lawrence and The Mill on the Floss by George Eliot. Of the two I much preferred The Mill on the Floss on second read through.
27. Last wedding attended?
We went to the reception but not the actual wedding of one of J's colleagues about 7 years ago now. The reception was held at Kew Gardens which rather strangely was also the venue of the wedding we went to before that as well.
28. How long was your longest drive in a car?
We've done the Highlands of Scotland in a day which is over 500 miles. The longest ever car journey I've made was from New Jersey to Florida but that was over about 3 days.
