New glass for the door was only the first step. As I mentioned earlier, it's slightly warped at the top and the weatherstripping/doorstop reinforced the warp. Back when the orcs still inhabited/visited 201, one of them had the good sense to install safety glass in the kitchen window, which is in the back of the house. It's hard to see in this picture (one thing I tend to be remiss in is getting good "before" pictures) but you can almost make out where someone tried to break in by breaking the glass. Took me a couple of missteps before I got the bend on the outer edge right (you have to click on the picture to see the whole thing), but finally got the aluminum molding installed. I was wondering what I'd use to glue it in place and found an unopened tube of Liquid Nails adhesive, so that was easy! Back when I built the teardrop trailer I needed ( Read more... )
