I've been sick the past few days, so I'll jump back into the newsworld again for my thoughts on current stories.
I'll direct your attention to a recent story coming out of Mexico City at Zocalo plaza. 20,000 people lined the plaza to take mass pictures with a famous photographer. The catch? They're all completely naked. Photographer Spencer Tunick explains it as being artistic and beautiful, but is it? Or is it just a gross gimmick?
Now, all of this photography and nakedness got me thinking... if I were presented with this situation, asked to be naked with thousands of other people... would I do it? Now most of you are probably thinking, "Kate, are you kidding me? How could you even ask yourself this? 'NO' should be your immediate and decided reaction!" But I can't rule out anything when it comes to posing such important and life-altering questions.
You have to take into account that it's not just you yourself going through the embarrassing but quite intruiging situation... you've got 20,000 other like-minded individuals blushing right along with you. I'd almost be comfortable with that... it would be the norm, the "in" thing, to just be without clothing. However, then you've got to take into account that there's probably that guy who came just to check everyone out. This and other factors lead me to the negative side... I'm not going to lie here, I'm just plain scared to death of the whole idea. This is coming from a girl who has never even owned a two piece bathing suit in her life, and usually opts for pants rather than short skirts. So with all of this information that you now know, do you think I'd do it?
Most likely, not.
What about you?
