I've been following the riots in Athens and Thessaloniki all day via Twitter and Flickr, recognizing a lot of the places in question, and just now heard that the National Archaeological Museum may be on fire.

At least there haven't been any deaths among protesters or police yet.

Digging is over, and I'm going to get ready to depart-- the season ended really well for me, and I'm quite happy. Full recap will need to wait until another day, though, since right now, I need to finish making my last-minute Athens travel arrangements. The heat continues, with the temperature easily over 100 in the shade and over 115 in the sun every day. It's making the last week of digging even more intense than it might otherwise be-- and the last week of digging is, by nature, somewhat stressful.
