I'm usually not one to be afraid of a little weather, but this wind is horrible. Trees are getting broken off at mid-trunk. Glass all over the road from the Kroger's sign that has been blown out. Nearly constant storms since 11:45. In those three hours we've gotten a radar-estimated total of 3-4 inches of rain.

Just think if that were snow!

[EDIT - 3:37 am] - As of bedtime the storm estimate is now between 4 and 5 inches, with some nearby areas at the 5 to 6 inch range. Still a storm or two to come through, but mostly done for the night ( Read more... )

Big storm hit yesterday, starting around 10am. Work released my training class half an hour early due to the conditions. My commute, usually 25 minutes long, took 65 minutes. This weather needs to go away. It was so hot and humid at 11 that I just wanted to run back inside and not face the world today. Hazy, smoggy nastiness out there.

And then I come in to a really busy day on the phones.

Guy is behind me, asking someone to buy him bottled water at the store because he doesn't want to pay the $1.25 (price went up from $1 a week ago) for water from the vending machine.
