Me grumbling about my latest book edit.

So I missed making an entry again yesterday, but boy, did I have a reason. Imagine me lying awake for a long time when I went to bed, my body kind of shaking from stress. I was thinking, "Well, this sure shows why it would be a bad idea for me to go back to office work."

I had a great time with maiac and two other online friends at dinner last night. And have had a productive day today.

Gah. No Doctor Who pics today. Again I am slightly brain-dead, but I got a lot -- a LOT -- of editing done. I did 147 pages, and have 107 to go! I should be able to whittle it down quite a bit during the week, after doing the SpellingCity stuff each day, and then do the last major blitz next Sunday. Endnotes perfectly formatted over the course of about eight hours. Check. All questions of capitalization of various words resolved. Check. Correct way to write "chapter 2" etc within the text figured out. Check. Capitalization of titles done properly. Check. All hyphenation issues resolved. Check.

Part of my screamingly frantic pace last week and the weekend before it involved having a deadline for an editing project (last Friday) that was occurring simultaneous to a deadline for writing some web pages and another deadline for getting a huge writing/editing thingie done for that spelling/writing website (SpellingCity). I believe this book project is the worst I have ever done. When it takes three hours to scrape and claw through fifteen pages, you know it's bad. I doubt I'll get it done by the Friday deadline, because I've neglected a ton of other work -- for which I get paid much, much sooner -- for almost the whole f**king weekend.
