documenta(13)

Today after work our original plan was just to have dinner and then back to the hotel.
On the way to the hotel we passed by an interesting vineyard/bunker combination, were people wore helmets, before they entered the bunker. There was a sign that it is part of the documenta (HUGE art exhibition every 5 years in Kassel)
Now, we thought we could visit that one and then have dinner.

We walked to the container where they handed out the helmets and learned that tickets were only available at a building called "Neue Galerie" (New Gallery), maybe a 10 minutes walk. So we walked up the hill to the ticket office there, bought the evening tickets for 10 € (still valid for about another 2 hours) and then had the brilliant idea to visit the vineyard on the way down the hill again and then enter the bunker.
Only that on the top of the vineyard there is no entry - only an exit AND once we found said exit we were basically on top of the bunker, but 30 m higher and needed to get down for said hill... mountain, which took another 10 minutes.

Then we could finally get the helmets ourselves, walked into the bunker and were finished about 7 minutes later. There were only two rooms inside with a book/sound project and the other about a very, very old flute.
Uhm... yeah... I wanted at least 9 € back, my boss 9.50 € ^^;;;

As we had already paid the 10 € we thought we should make the best of it.
For unknown reasons the entry to the vineyard was free, even though it was obviously part of the documenta as well. I'll show pictures of that later on.

The exit of the vineyard was almost on top of the hill and thus close to the city and the main buildings of the documenta. We visited another two buildings there, with lots of almost empty rooms. Staff-san shouted "DON'T TOUCH IT" at my boss, when his hands got to close to a GIANT print with airplanes on it ^^;;;
We also so a few very, very big rooms with only one or two pieces and finally two Dali originals.

By then it was about 8 PM, our legs were a bit angry with us with all the uphill, downhill, uphill and then some more stairs ^^;

We did have dinner (Chinese) in the end and then walked downhill again and off to the hotel it was :-)
