I hate you, UNL
1. Once again my University is the only school, including other colleges, open today. Everyone else took a look at the horribly slick roads and whiteout conditions and -25 wind chill and decided their student's safety was more important than classes for one day. But hey, what's a few potential broken bones? I mean, it's not like anyone will die. Well, there was that one time a few years ago where they held classes when everyone else canceled and an Assistant Dean died, but I'm sure that was just a random fluke and there's no chance of anything like that happening again just because the roads are snow covered ice and no one can see anything.
2. So another federal judge has ruled against health care reform because of the provision that it requires all Americans to get health insurance and that's supposedly beyond the government's authority. Don't they kind of require you to have car insurance if you own a car? Isn't that kind of the same thing? I really really wish the Republicans would stop saying things about "Americans" wanting health care repealed. Um, I'm American. I'm all for health care reform. Please fuck off, thank you very much.
3. I did nothing yesterday but sew. Well, and eat, but literally nothing else. 14.5 hours I sewed to finish prints for crit today. I'm tired, and I'm cranky, and my back hurts, and can I sue UNL if I get injured on the ice or get frost bite from the cold? That sounds really nice right about now. Hopefully my bus will actually show up today, preferably not over an hour late.
