I like Arrow more than you, it's not great but I do feel for Ollie and think Diggle has potential. Thea annoys the hell out of me though. But whatever, just saying that if you are watching for Barrowman you MUST watch 1x9. DO IT! DO IT!!

Whoooo-hoooo! AS long as John's there; I'm there. I went to fucking Birmingham England...IN JANUARY. I watched ALL of John's Desperate Housewives episodes. My Barrowmania is still a powerful force.

As a queer woman, I'm nearly always in favor of canonical gay relationships, so the legitimacy of Vastra/Jenny pleases me in a way that leaving it subtext would not have. I know about your deep love of subtext, but saying it out loud matters a lot to me and my queer friends. Vastra has pretty much said whatever she wanted in her few minutes of screentime, so I doubt she'd really be bothered. She's a lizard woman. She's not trying to fit in.

To me it just felt like Moff scoring points. (Especially in light of the vast amounts of fan-service bait and switch he's pulled on Sherlock.) But I take your point...the "married" line just threw me off, because IF it's supposed to be literal...how exactly would that have happened in that time and place? (Maybe there's fanfic to be written about the Doctor performing the ceremony in some capacity as the "captain" of his own ship?)

Well, we don't know anything about Homo reptilia weddings either, so that's hard to say. Also, surely even in Victorian times there were a few non-jackasses/subversives, or Jenny might have dressed as a man. She seems plenty comfortable in those trousers, and Vastra did forget the difference between men and women at one point.

My point is that I don't care if it's fanservice. It makes me feel like there's a little less loathing in a world that sometimes hates me very much. I don't get to get married, after all. It's nice that Vastra and Jenny did.

Maybe we'll all get to see a world (or at least a United States) where you do.

Fortunately, since I haven't seen any of these shows, I can't be pissed off. Except that I've seen bits and pieces of Arrow because it's the lead-in for Supernatural, and OMG, you're right, it sucks donkey balls. You do bring the ranty goodness! (My only cavil is Richard Grant trumping the Awesomeness That Is Michael Gambon, but maybe on that show he did.)

I can't tell from your summation, but do you like Elementary or not?

I can't tell from your summation, but do you like Elementary or not?I like Jonny Lee Miller's Sherlock, I ADORE Lucy Liu's Joan Watson. I'm kind of in love with Aidan Quinn's Gregson. I REALLY like a lot of what they are doing in attempting to draw from ACD/BBC Sherlock and House. The Sherlock/Joan chemistry is sort of a split difference between all three sources, but there's a lot of charm there ( ... )

Since I don't keep up with Dr. Who chatter I don't know what people are saying about Clara but while I liked her. I don't like the previews for the rest of the season where it's "oooo a special magical person who is not what they seem" ... for gods sake we've already had fucking River Song as his uber special and Amy... can't we just go back to normal companions? :( I don't want a super special one.

Otherwise I think it'll be good if that super special bit doesn't come to fruition in too gag inducing manner.

And I loved the we're married line <3 I thought it was lovely and one of my favorite parts of the episode by far! :)

Well, RTD's women were all "super speshul" in their own ways as well, and I'm not sure where Moff is going right now. I'm just happy to be done with Amy's brand of self-adoration.

Haha, I enjoy Arrow more than you do but it has problems, that's for sure. :D It's weird but I have a problem with the fact that Oliver is way too trigger happy. I totally love Walter and Moira! They are way more interesting than Oliver.

I REALLY hate vigilantism-based plots, especially when they come with so much unbridled self-righteousness. It also annoys me that he has no compunction about taking out random mooks, who have done nothing worse than make a bad career choice.

Seriously Oliver...get over yourself, big guy!
