Today's the wake for my mil, Marion. It seems very hard with the holly and jolly and the other ollys of the season to go through this. I can only imagine how difficult it is for her children, and I'm so grateful to be here and be part of it all.

The weather is grim with wind and rain, it's as if the whole world is crying.

As it turned out, the deal from yesterday was exactly what was needed, as it sort of released some steam and it seems everyone's doing better ( Read more... )

Another 1000 words on my scene on Friday and I spent time packing, and yesterday I worked in the morning and then we packed up the truck and drove to Chicago, which is where I am right now. I'm really looking forward to seeing my mil later today, and she might be coming home at the end of the week, so it's all good ( Read more... )

My mil is doing well on some fronts, she seems to know everyone and what they're saying, but the doctors are worried that her lungs keep filling, so they're wanting to do a tracheotomy. The thing I most don't think about is that when she does come out of this, her life is going to be so different and her body won't be anything she knows, anymore ( Read more... )

My mil had a severe stroke and may not walk again. Still, it's hard to tell with these things in the long run, and they're going to start her on physical therapy very soon. My mil had a stroke that's affecting her left side some time yesterday. So far she's not doing too badly, her arm isn't right and there's slurring in her speech.

I can't tell you how worried I am for her--she pretty much holds my hub's entire family together, and she's kind and funny, ugh, I really hope she comes out of this all right.
