This was the corner of the backyard, before. All it needs is a car on blocks up there and we're all set.
Ok, the lawn is still a mess, but the planter is much better. I yanked most of the weeds so you can see the rocks, and filled in the blank spots with drought-resistant flowers and more rocks that I dug out while I was trying to plant the flowers. The whole flower bed is big fat rocks, about a foot deep before you get to the actual dirt. AUGH.
These will probably look way cool once they start filling in a little, but we'll see how drought resistant this setup is in July, muahahaha.
Stuff I added:
- pinkish-purplish sea thrift, which sounds like a great name for a boat.
- sweet broom, which was on sale and comes in a cheerful obnoxious yellow.
- blue fescue grass. It's not very flashy, but it's good at filling in blank spots.
- A whole mess o' mulch.
The big pot has a plumeria tree, which was a gift from the last owner's
All-Potted-Water-Sucking-Jungle-Garden, and one of the only things that didn't die instantly when we took over. Hopefully it'll start sprouting leaves soon.
