amsterdam update number two
hi friends! so this is update number two of my amsterdam travels! yesterday was sunday and new years day, so holly and i headed out around 4 (because we're way slow and cannot seem to wake up earlier then that due to some jet lag tiredness) and we walked to Dam Square and had a sandwhich and a beer for a late lunch. then we went to meet Igor at Lexiplane (this other square) and it was really nice meeting him for the first time. i gave him the gift i made for him and then he brought holly and i some really neat russian military hats that are soooo neat. we got ready and i rolled a joint for us at her house and then we went off to the VondlePark to smoke it and just chill. after about an hour there of freezing our butts off we decided to walk around before we were supposed to meet up with her friends Talia and Jayon. we went to this really pretty view and took pictures and walked around some more just killing time and admiring the night time city lights. here is a picture of me and holly infront of a building that was pretty:
after we met up with Jayon and Talia we went to wagamayas or something like that, it was this really yummy japanese restaurant. we decided then to go bar hoping because we didn't know what would be open due to it being new years day and a holiday. we tried their favorite bar Hearteg's but it was way the opposite of open so we went to this bar called Rock and Roll cafe which was way cooler then it sounds, they played awesome music and had like jimi hendrix everywhere and motorcycles and shit. it was really neat. we had beers there and i learned Igor does not like his picture taken whatsoever. and he wont let me take his picture at all! ugh but dont worry folks i still got one of him. then we left there and went to this other bar which was rather irish themed but was way neat and we had a lot more drinks there like bailey's and this weird cider drink holly and i hadn't experienced but the russian insisted we try it. it was like apple beer. sorta tasted like pee, but enjoyable still.. so i instantly fell in love with holly's friends. igor is way neat and funnny bunny, and then jayon is really outgoing and so nice and talia is waaay neat. igor is russian, jayon is korean, and talia is australian/indian. how neat! we had such a good time and it was sad the girls had to leave early and so did igor a little later. here is a picture of the girls, since igor wont be in pictures with us!:
i look a little scared but really i'm having the best time ever! after the girls left and we left the irish pub we went to this special cafe but decided it wasn't that cool, or atleast the people weren't. like they were all older and no cool kids our age so we went to the dolphin again (i can see us being regulars there...hehe) and bought a SMALLER joint and then i rolled another one from pot holly already had with her. it was pretty nice and we just talked for ever and they were playing this snowboarding video and i guess when hayley is high she really likes snowboarding or atleast watching it because i could NOT take my eyes off it. it was really intense and they kept falling and breaking their necks and shit. but we had really nice conversation and then had to leave to drop Igor off at the tram line and we headed back to home for sleep around 1. today we plan to go shopping in the Jordan area and then we will go have drinks and perhaps dinner then ice skating and who knows probably a club or bar or two after that. we sort of had problems once again waking up early but for the rest of the week we swore to ourselves we'd get up earlier so we have more time! although we planned out exactly what we're doing every day of the week so we don't miss anything. i'm missing everyone at home but having the best time of my life with the best girl i know! hope everyone is having a good last few days of break!
