I literally fell asleep in the hot tub yesterday afternoon, until my phone buzzed & dinged because T sent some text messages. I don't think I've ever fallen asleep in the hot tub before? That sounds dangerous, although maybe it isn't, maybe people wake up immediately upon drowning? Yeah, I barely slept Friday night because of the anticipation of driving T to the airport through the snow at 4am. (Instead I played Civ V at 2:30am and won!)
So then I came inside and ordered pizza, ate only two slices -- down from four last time, it's called "dieting" LOL -- and then went to bed. Woke at 10pm, realized I needed to take my evening pills, then went back to bed for another 8 hours. Now I'm up, still early for the weekend, but after plenty of catchup sleep. All the sleep!!
I'm not yet interested in socializing with humans, two cats are enough (had to wander the house just now to make sure they were both here and still alive), will probably continue my staycation and play with toys again, jump in the hot tub again, eat leftover pizza afterward again. Not interested in going to the condo today either, so looks like no haircut this weekend.
I'm feeling some work stress, so will probably do a work period tomorrow to get my ducks in a row for the upcoming short work week. Working on a holiday nets me no credit hours, but that's OK.

I'm watching an interview with Jill Stein from December, because I'm vetting the three Green candidates for President should I remain registered as a Green instead of jumping over to Republican to vote (for Haley) against Trump. The first topic in the interview is all about ballot access, which usually isn't even a topic for Democrats or Republicans (although this year Trump faces ballot access fights over the 14th Amendment's "insurrection" clause).
There are two other Green candidates, according to the Maryland Green Party's website. I looked at them -- one favors abolishing the police, so not getting my vote -- the other doesn't seem coherent enough to run for county dogcatcher. So, I'm listening to Jill Stein talk about ballot access.
In 2020 only three parties had full nationwide ballot access: Democrats, Libertarians, and Republicans. The Greens ranked 4th, with access in 29 states + DC. The Greens had access in Maryland, but then lost it because their candidate received only 0.52% of the statewide vote, whereas 1% is necessary to retain access for the next election. (Then Greens received only 0.73% for Governor in 2022.) No other party won access in enough states to even theoretically win the Electoral College. (A communist party came in 5th, though, go commies!)
Actually, I think 1% is a fair-enough criterion for retaining ballot access. Most proportional representation systems around the world require more than 1% to be seated in parliament, with the median requirement (of 81 countries) at 4% and the most common requirement at 5%. That we Greens can't even get 1% in the third most liberal state is sad. But, in a first-past-the-post system like ours, many people feel voting for a minor party is a wasted vote under any circumstance.

Well, the sun is now up, I think I'll stay lazy in bed for a while before resuming my soccer/butt game later. No, the idea of getting a haircut isn't strong enough to get me to drive downtown to the condo today. I'll probably stay at the condo on Friday and get a haircut on Saturday. Then staying at Ben's on Saturday. So, the cats will be without me next weekend. Maybe I'll get Ben to drive me home on Sunday? Look at me planning next weekend already! I'm so obsessive.
