The last time I had *this* type of pain *here*, my doc called it a "lumbar strain", gave me some stronger muscle relaxers, and told me to take as much time off from work as I could.
It doesn't hurt as badly as last time, thank Goddess, so I haven't gone to the doc for stronger medicine, I'm using what's on hand. And I thought no way I can take time off this week, but today I quit work at 4pm, went to get some groceries, and then cooked dinner. Mmmmmm, was yummy! After a bit I'll head out to the hot tub for some bubbles on my back/butt. We'll see what kind of exercise I'm up for tomorrow. Yoga was so sweet today, really hit the spot for stretching the painful area, I felt almost human afterward. So maybe I'll just do yoga again tomorrow. I had to ditch my running goal for the week, but really you have to when you're injured. I used to pad my marathon training schedules with an assumption that I'd be injured and need a couple extra weeks at some point. Here I wasn't training for a particular race yet, I'm just trying to get up to 10K before summer weather hits.
Yet, my mood is much better, I'm feeling like I'm coping instead of feeling like I'm overwhelmed and unable to sleep.
I've set out three of my board games that center on early 20th Century Europe and one more arrives on Saturday! I will probably play one of them soon! As I listen to this new audiobook about WW1 :-)
