God, the Devil, and Stupidity

In 1943, after being interrogated by Vichy police officers who suspected him (rightly) of conspiring to rescue Jews from the occupying Nazis, a French clergyman named André Trocmé stepped into the open air with a revised view of the human condition. “Before he entered that police station in Limoges, he thought the world was a scene where two forces were struggling for power: God and the Devil,” writes one of his chroniclers. “From then on, he knew that there was a third force seeking hegemony over this world: stupidity.”

Sleeping fitfully overnight ... generally I don't worry about it, I just find stuff to do online or play games on my phone or whatever. There are nights when I sleep 10 hours through, and nights when I don't. I generally don't worry about it because I trust my body to sleep as it needs it. I tend to think we impose these timeclock schedules on our bodies because of industrialization. The 9-5 workday and stuffing in everything else around that and having to sleep at night instead of sleeping when we're sleepy. It is easier to take naps during the workday while working from home.

That's my neo-gatherer ethic creeping in, my paleoanarchism or anarcho-primitivism. Taken all the way this ethic would be suicidal and panocidal, wiping out 99.9% of us to return to a sustainable human ecology circa 10,000 years ago, while somehow retaining some of the knowledge and tech we learned along the way, heh. But for now, I can simply "not lose sleep" over losing sleep.

My latest fantasy election was the Norwegian Parliamentary election yesterday. I probably would've voted for the Socialist Left party, but I'm pleased to see the Red party also did well, jumping from one to eight seats. The Red party is frankly communist, advocating for a classless society, citing to Marx. Political scientists probably have their carefully curated definitions regarding the difference between democratic socialism and communism, but in a parliamentary system I might not see the harm in voting for a frankly communist party. It would depend on whether that party can get along with the others on the left.

No one person is in charge of the type of government that a country has, or the borders of that country, or anything country-sized really. Even if an election is decided by one vote, you didn't decide that election, everybody who voted had the same power to flip it the other way.

I'm not sure I have anything useful to say right now LOL.
