One of the reasons we bought this house here, is because we are so close to the wild forest. We could walk to the trailhead, but it is faster to drive the 0.8 miles and park and start from there.
I didn't realize it at first, when Tod was so adamant, about living so close to this wildness. That was a plus, along with the Atomic Ranch architecture.
